Озмермер находится на четвертом месяце беременности. Есть угроза выкидыша. Несмотря на это она содержится в камере с 20 женщинами. Утверждается, что в первый день ареста ей не давали воды чтобы утолить жажду. На свободе маму ждет 5-летний сын.
До увольнения по чрезвычайному правительственному декрету в 2016 году Серпиль Озмермер работала в суде. В том же году против нее завели дело. Узнав о расследовании женщина лично отправилась в полицию для дачи показаний. За все время следствия Озмермер посещала судебные слушания и исполняла все предписания. Но 17 декабря 2019 года суд вынес решение об аресте и помещения беременной женщины под стражу.
