Ранее глава Турции Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган заявил, не упоминая имени Арынча, что «среди нас есть желающие зажечь огонь распрей». В заявлении Бюлент Арынч сказал, что «оповестил президента об отставке, ее приняли».
До ухода из совета бывший вице-премьер Бюлент Арынч призвал власти освободить экс-сопредседателя ДПН Селахаттина Демирташа и филантропа Османа Кавалу. На что Эрдоган в свою очередь заявил: «Тайип Эрдоган и его коллеги никогда не заступятся за тех, кто в настоящее время осужден судебной системой, тех, кто стал причиной гибели сотен тысяч наших людей, Ясина Бёру и виновных в резне в Кобани».
