Известно, что ее муж Хидает Чалышкан 2 года, а отец 3,5 года содержатся в тюрьме Чанаккале. Отмечается, что в последнее время женщина принимала антидепрессанты и возможно потеряла сознание, когда находилась на балконе.
О смерти Халиме Чалышка написал в своем микроблоке в Твиттер известный правозащитник, депутат парламента от ДПН Омер Фарук Гергерлиоглу.
«До меня дошла информация, что женщина по имени Халиме, мать двухлетнего ребенка, муж и отец которой в тюрьме, покончила жизнь самоубийством. Пока точно не установлено было ли это самоубийство или несчастный случай. Очень печально. Надеюсь, эта смерть не от безнадежности», – написал правозащитник, добавив, что теперь без матери осталась девочка Зехра.
