В турецких тюрьмах резко увеличилось количество детей, содержащихся в заключении вместе с матерями.
Напомним, в Турции после попытки переворота 15 июля 2016 года продолжает действовать режим чрезвычайного положения. За это время тысячи человек, в том числе матери и дети, брошены за решетку по надуманным основаниям.
По состоянию на 23 апреля 2018 года количество детей с матерями в тюрьмах составило 705.
Примечательно, что 23 апреля в государственный праздник Национального суверенитета и Дня защиты детей полиция задержала Зейнеп Хазар с двухмесячным сыном Угуром Акифом. В этот же день отец малыша тоже был задержан и помещен под стражу. 7-летнюю дочь супругов оставили на время у знакомых.
Правозащитные международные организации неоднократно указывали турецким властям, ведущим «охоту на ведьм» с момента попытки переворота 15 июля 2016 года, на неправомерность задержаний и арестов матерей с детьми и беременных женщин, и содержание их в заключении. В настоящее время в тюрьмах по необоснованным причинам находятся 18 тысяч женщин и свыше 700 детей.
