За 15 месяцев нахождения в тюрьме женщина, приговоренная к 6 годам и 10 месяцам лишения свободы, не получала должного лечения, что привело к значительному прогрессированию болезни.
В медицинском заключении, выписанном исследовательской клиникой университета имени Ататюрка, сообщается, что правый глаз девушки не видит на 80%, а левый на 70%. Риск совсем лишиться зрения очень высок.
Как рассказал отец девушки, Мерва не в состоянии справиться со своими элементарными физическими потребностями, такими как сходить в уборную без помощи сокамерниц. Мужчина сообщил, что подал ходатайство по делу дочери в Конституционный суд.
