Рабочая группа ООН по произвольным арестам приняла решение по заявлениям судьи Мелике Гёксан и Мехмета Фатиха Гёксана.
В решении говорится, что произвольные аресты тысячи людей под предлогом использования мобильного приложения ByLock проводились в Турции незаконно, потому что граждане пользовались приложением в рамках своих прав и свобод самовыражения. Задержания под этим предлогам противоречат пункту 19 Конвенции о гражданских и политических правах.
Решении органа ООН важно с точки зрения защиты прав тысячи турецких граждан, пострадавших от произвольных и необоснованных арестов.
