Напомним, в прошлом месяце Эрдоган встретился с фактическим правителем Объединенных Арабских Эмиратов, принцем Абу-Даби Мухаммедом ибн Заидом аль-Нахайяном, который приехал в Турцию и попытался улучшить отношения с Эрдоганом.
Досконально известно, что официальные лица Турции неоднократно обвиняли ОАЭ в причастности к попытке переворота 15 июля 2016 года в Турции и называли ОАЭ «финансистом путча».
Ранее одна из ведущих американских газет The Wall Street Journal отмечала, что Эрдоган, который провел переговоры в Катаре 6-7 декабря, почти встретился с наследным принцем Салманом, но расписания двух лидеров тогда не совпали.
