Американские следователи подозревают Алптекина в шпионской деятельности в пользу иностранного государства, имея ввиду Турцию.
Согласно следствию, Алптекин и деловой партнер Флинна Биджан Киан обвиняются «в сокрытии от США истинных данных, заговоре и сотрудничестве в пользу иностранного государства». Аналогичные обвинения были ранее предъявлены в отношении Флинна, который позже согласился сотрудничать со следствием.
Обвинительный акт в отношении турецкого бизнесмена Экима Алптекина и ирано-американского предпринимателя Биджана Киана был представлен спецпрокурором Робертом Мюллером, ведущим дело о возможном вмешательстве России в итоги президентских выборов в США, по которому проходит бывший советник Дональда Трампа по национальной безопасности Майкл Флинн.
«В рамках федерального расследования связанного с попытками экстрадиции Фетхуллаха Гюлена из США в Турцию обнародован обвинительный акт в отношении двух бывших деловых партнеров Флинна», – написала газета The New York Times.
